Hi, I'm Ali.
I make things on the internet.
I'm a developer based in Canada. Previously at Microsoft and Meta. Now I build products people actually use and help engineering teams get real value from AI.

Making Canadian personal finance less confusing
A blog and free tool hub that helps Canadians actually understand their money. RRSP contribution room, TFSA limits, compound interest, all explained in plain English, with calculators that do the math for you. No financial advisor required.
MatchGuide
The travel guide for 2026 World Cup fans
Hundreds of thousands of fans are coming to Canada for the 2026 World Cup and have no idea where to eat, how to get to the stadium, or what to expect. I built a free app that answers all of that. Works offline, no account needed, covers Vancouver and Toronto.
AISlop Hub
The internet's judge for AI-generated content
A community platform where people submit AI-generated content to be rated, roasted, and judged. Weekly challenges, a slop score from 0 to 100, and a hall of shame for the truly legendary failures. Turns out people love judging AI almost as much as AI loves writing nonsense.
BitsAndAI
AI consulting that skips the hype
Helping businesses figure out where AI actually helps them and where it is just noise. No buzzwords, no vendor pitches. Just honest advice on what to build, what to buy, and what to ignore.
Larry the Lazy Llama
Children's book ยท Co-authored with Peter Marotta
A children's picture book about a llama who doesn't want to do his chores until he learns why they matter. Hand-illustrated, light-hearted, and apparently a big hit at bedtime. Available on Amazon.
Speaking & AI Training
I work with engineering teams to help them actually use AI in their day-to-day work, not just talk about it.
Worked at Microsoft as part of the engineering org with experience across large-scale software development and enterprise product teams.
Worked with engineers at Meta on how to accelerate software development workflows using AI tools.
Led a session on practical AI adoption for engineering teams, covering tooling, prompting, and building AI-native workflows.
What I can do for your team
- โฆ
Engineering with AI
A hands-on session teaching your developers how to use AI tools to ship faster, write better code, review PRs, write tests, and cut the boring work.
- โฆ
AI Strategy Workshop
A leadership session on where AI actually fits in your product and engineering org, and where it does not.
- โฆ
1:1 Coaching
Individual sessions for engineers or founders who want to level up their AI skills personally.
About me
I'm a developer and builder based in Canada. I've worked at Microsoft and Meta, and I've run AI training sessions for engineering teams at companies including Meta and Arcvale.
Now I build my own products. Most start with a problem I've run into personally. Why is there no simple RRSP calculator that actually explains what it's doing? There are 600,000 fans coming to Canada for the World Cup and nowhere to find good local advice. I build a thing, put it online, and see if it sticks.
If your team wants to move faster with AI and actually use it rather than just talk about it, that is something I can help with.
Free Mentorship
Early in my career I had no one to turn to. Later, the right mentors changed everything. If you are lost, stuck, or just starting out, I would love to pay that forward. No cost, no agenda.
